OUR STORY
A Santa Fe Original Since 1905
Plaza Cafe Downtown is more than a restaurant—it’s a living part of Santa Fe’s history.
Established in 1905, we are proud to be the oldest restaurant in Santa Fe, serving generations of locals, travelers, artists, and families from around the world.
A Family Legacy
In 1947, Dan (Dionysios) Razatos, a Greek immigrant, took ownership of the Plaza Cafe alongside his wife Beneranda, a Santa Fe native. Together, they built a family-run restaurant grounded in hospitality, hard work, and community.
Their legacy continues today—through recipes, traditions, and a philosophy that food should bring people together.
Santa Fe "The City Different"
Where Cultures Meet on the Plate
Plaza Cafe reflects the spirit of Santa Fe: diverse, layered, and deeply rooted.
Our menu blends:
- Traditional New Mexican flavors
- Greek influences from the Razatos family
- Classic American diner comfort
From blue corn enchiladas, blue corn pancakes, to Mexican shakshuka and chicken fried steak, every dish tells part of our story.
